While the federal government shutdown has delayed SNAP benefits for many Massachusetts families, Brockton Public Schools students continue to be entitled to access no-cost breakfast and lunch on school days.
As of November 7, the Healey-Driscoll Administration has taken action to provide full SNAP benefits to qualified recipients.
Still, BPS would like to make families and other stakeholders aware of additional resources beyond SNAP that are available.
For assistance outside of school hours, families can call or text Project Bread's Foodsource Hotline at 1-800-645-8333 to speak with a counselor. You can also chat online with a Project Bread counselor by using the "chat now" feature at the bottom of Project Bread's website.
The hotline is available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
